Christmas in Sookie's Fairy Garden

A mini-epiphany came to me over the weekend. Okay, perhaps it was a full blown epiphany.

I'm a little stressed these days. It wasn't a stellar week in the health facet of my life. I tend to get discouraged incredibly easily if I feel I'm letting Sookie down in any way, shape, or form or if I feel I'm not doing my absolute best in every area. I am overwhelmed and upset with various situations the world is throwing at me. But it dawned on me...

All of this is minuscule, does not even begin to compare to the visions and worries I was facing last year around this time. Bed rest, Sookie's left ventricle in her heart measuring small, would my transplanted kidney survive labor? You know, BIG stuff. Life altering, chapter ending, universe shifting obstacles and occurrences.

So why can't I relax? I know how heart wrenching the world can be and yet I still somehow get caught up in petty things sometimes.

It is something I really need to change and I recognize it. I know I need to be kind to myself as well.

My mom bought a small white tree for Sookie's room. We put it up yesterday, well I should say I did while Sookie and Jack made a mess with ornaments and various other Christmas paraphernalia strewn about her room.

She was fascinated with it...

She is finally feeling better and it thrills me to see a smile on her sweet face again. The past month or so has been a little rough. But, in the grand scheme of things we are all lucky. So unbelievably lucky.

  1. OMG I love it! She is such a doll baby! Such a cute idea with the tree & I love the Ferries.

Sorry you are having a rough time.. I kind of know the feeling. I know my physical issues are different from yours but I know what you mean when you feel like you are letting her down.. I feel that way with Shiloh lately because I am just so darn tired. But know that she will understand.. it will be okay & from what I read & see on your blog you are an awesome mommy :)
